Isuzu Ute Australia is recalling its flagship D-Max X-Terrain due to an issue with its tonneau cover.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the roller tonneau front cover screws may become loose and fall out,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If this occurs the tonneau front cover may detach from the vehicle while driving.

“If the roller tonneau front cover detaches from the vehicle while driving, it will increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to other road users or/and bystanders.”

  • A total of 7106 vehicles are affected from 2020 to 2021
  • The VIN list is attached here
  • The original recall notice is attached here

Isuzu Ute Australia is contacting owners of affected vehicles in writing.

If you own one of these vehicles, you’ll need to contact an Isuzu dealership to organise a free inspection and repair.

If you have any questions, you can contact the company’s customer relations team on 1300 147 898.
